The Association of
Minority Health Professions Schools, Inc. (AMHPS)
is a nonprofit, educational, scientific and
charitable 501 (c)(3) organization that
provides support for professional education,
research and community service that promotes
optimum health among minorities and the
under-served. It does this by engaging the
collaborative resources, scholarship and
technology for minority health professions
schools.
AMHPS member schools collectively known as
the Association of Minority Health
Professions Schools (AMHPS) are drawn from
historically black colleges and universities
which include four schools of medicine, two
schools of dentistry, five schools of
pharmacy and one school of veterinary
medicine. |

Together, these
institutions are regarded as the nation’s
primary educators of minority health
professionals and leading authorities on
minority health. Through AMHPS support from
public and private sources, member schools
conduct a broad range of projects in
biomedical research, health education and
community outreach.
The AMHPS also serves as a clearinghouse for
the management and administration of
research proposals from AMHPS members to
federal agencies and independent/private
sector funding sources.
